FAQs about Scratch Repair

After repair will there be marks on my glass?

No - Our unique glass polish process will leave window panes looking like new.

Can you repair all types of glass?

Unfortunately we cannot repair textured or coated glass.

Will your process weaken the glass?

Our process will not further weaken the glass. Scratched glass is already somewhat weakened, and although we are not strengthening it, we are removing that strain. When we remove the scratch the result is a structurally sound piece of glass.

Can you repair toughened glass?

Yes - No problem at all. Our glass polishing process works very efficiently on tempered glass because of the glass density. Our scratch removal system works equally well on laminated, curved, plate and mirrored glass.

Our technicians are capable of handling any thickness of glass, including single glazing panes.

Can you repair curved glass?

Our system produces the same brilliant results on all types of curved glass, and our unique system can reach places before considered unreachable.

Can you repair tinted glass?

Yes - tinted glass can be treated similar to non-tinted glass as the tint goes all the way through the glass.

Can you repair car windscreens?

Yes- In many cases we can repair windscreens more economically than replacing the windshield outright. This depends on the extent of damage to the glass.

Can you remove mineral deposits and build up from glass?

Yes - Our glass polishing system will easily remove most mineral deposits, acid etching or build up from glass.

Can you repair glass without removing it?

Yes - Our system does not require us to remove glass, and our technicians will travel to your location to complete the glass repair.

How close to the edge of glass can you polish?

Typically we can polish scratches right up to the edge of the glass. In fact we have had great results polishing scratches close to or on the edge of glass panes.

Scratch and Chip Polish

Our unique Glass Polish System is based on a 3 stage process:

  1. We use an abrasive flat disc to gently fine the glass to the level of the scratch. This process removes between 0.1mm and 0.2mm of glass in order to remove the damage on the glass.

  2. We work the scratched area with finer and finer grades of similar abrasive discs to grind down the damaged area and blend it with the rest of the glass. We continue this process until the glass is lightly misted.  Next comes the polish.

  3. The final polishing stage is where we use a hard felt pad with a paste glass polishing compound. We work the area until the mist is completely gone and the glass is polished to its original clarity.

The same process can be applied to Auto Glass as seen here:
